ABOUT

ABOUT THE FOUNDRY ASSOCIATES

The Foundry is one of America's most distinct office and residential locations. Once the site of one of the industrial revolution’s most successful companies – Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Company – today it is home to many of New England's best companies and the region’s most distinct loft apartment living.

The campus offers 26-acres and 13 buildings which have been meticulously restored and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Foundry is located along the Woonasquatucket River, adjacent to Providence Place Mall, Route 95, the Providence Train Station and Rhode Island’s State House.
OUR HISTORY

OUR FOUNDER

MR GUERRA

Antonio Guerra (1927-2014)

Tony began his career as an architect with The Robinson, Green, Beretta Corporation, he then created Delta Construction Company, one of the first design-build construction firms in the Northeast, in 1962. He was a visionary, and a pioneer in the field of historic preservation. Tony's most prominent contribution to Rhode Island and to the city of Providence was his purchase and renovation of the former Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Plant, currently known as The Foundry Corporate Office Center and The Promenade Apartments. Tony finalized the purchase of this historic complex in 1968. Thirteen buildings totaling 1 million square feet have been completely renovated and restored and are occupied by a mix of commercial and residential uses. He pursued his vision faithfully until the day he passed.

OUR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

DUCKS
Originally designed in an era without the wide availability of the automobile, these mills have been repurposed for today’s mobile lifestyle. Meticulous care has been taken to preserve the original fabric of the buildings, while modernizing them. LED lighting, the latest in heating and cooling technology and solar panels are just a few items, which make each property unique and efficient.
